Below are some reasons why this may be the case:

Your payment to Google was not accepted

If you are paying your Google Ads account via automatic payments, Google will charge you when

  • you reach your pre-set payment threshold or
  • you reach the end of your current billing period

If Google cannot accept your payment, then your campaign will be halted so make sure that your credit cards are not about to expire or that they are up to date with payments.

Your bids are either too high or too low

If the maximum cost per click (CPC) bid you set for a particular keyword exceeds the daily budget for the campaign then your ads will not display  for queries that match to that keyword.

But the obvious reason that your Google ads are not showing is because your bids are too low. You will need to increase the bids on that keyword. Google will help you select the correct bids.

Not many people are searching for the keyword

If Google spots that you’re targeting an extremely low-volume keyword, then it will make the keyword temporarily inactive within your account. If the search volume increases, Google will automatically reactive the keyword.

Your ad has been paused, removed, or disapproved

This will typically be caused by a mis-management of the account. It could be:

  • A mis-understanding of instructions in your team
  • Foul-play
  • Interference by the client

You can see the changes being made by navigating to Change History.

There is a scheduling or targeting mistake

This a simple mistake that anyone can make. Check this in the Ad Schedule tab of the campaign and correct the target area oor the date and time that the advert is displayed.

Negative keywords are negating active keywords

If some of your Google ads aren’t showing, it may be because you have negative keywords canceling out active keywords. Check at Campaign and Ad Group level for wrong negative keywords.

You are out of money for the day

Sometimes your budget will be exhausted for the day.

Look at the adjusting the schedule so that your ads are available when your clients are searching for your target terms or increae your budget.

Your ad group is not focused

It could be that all the money is being used up by one Ad Group.

Build Ad groups that are comprised of closely related keywords then the correct Ad will be triggered.

Your ad copy is not optimized

Make sure that your main target keywords are included in the Ad otherwise Google may choose not to display the Ad.

Your landing page does not match the keyword

Google checks that the content of the landing page compared to the keyword being searched for.

If the keyword is not on the landing page then your ad may not display.

Your click-through rate (CTR) is too low

Google wants people to click on your ads.

If the content of the ad is not appealing the searcher the Google may choose not to display it.
